Discussion prompts/Journal Exercise:

  • Write down some of the thoughts and feelings that tend to be your biggest obstacles that get in your own way (like feelings of guilt, or any other negative feelings), and a list of affirmations and thoughts that will help you overcome these feelings next time they start to bog you down (like reasons you can tell yourself when you need to forgive yourself for something).
  • Pretend that you are trying to comfort a younger brother/sister/cousin that is feeling down about themselves, and write about an incident in your life where you triumphed to help inspire them.
