Lesson:  Influencing cut-off

(scroll down for video)

Discussion prompts/Journal Exercise:

  • Write about a time when you successfully influenced someone, or they influenced you (a.k.a. They changed your mind about something).  What was it that got you or them to see the other side?
  • The more you try to influence someone that isn’t interested in being influenced, the more you put yourself at risk of slipping down the hopeless or the powerless sides of the slippery slope roof, until eventually, those feelings turn into a default state of mind for you.  Give yourself an honest assessment of how often and easily that happens, and come up with some triggers that can help remind you when to stop so you can create new habits that are empowering.
